Welcome to Mersea Mobile Disco and Entertainments.
We cater for any occasion , especially weddings where we are recommended by a number of venues in the region. With our partners we can supply light up Mr & Mrs signs and various other letters and numbers. Our disco is self contained in a booth with screens , being unobtrusive whilst your occasion is under way . Our DJ, Simon has many years experience and is also a radio presenter at 2 local stations .
We also cater for theme nights, 70s, 80s, and anything you can think of. We also cater for kids parties, with games and entertainment, Mickey and Minnie characters too . You just supply the prizes.
We supply karaoke , with a vast library of songs for a great nights entertainment supplied by your guests .
For an extra twist we supply Bingo, the bingo pads and pens, you supply the prizes or sell the books and split the cash for prizes and fund raising.
We also supply disco's for local schools in the region , including special needs schools

We also have an outdoor cinema hire , with a large selection of sing a long films , and popcorn machine. Older films are included in the hire , more recent films at the licencing cost.
Our outdoor screen is 6 metres any angle view. We also do indoor cinema on a 4 metre screen and projector hire with a 2 metre screen.

As a visual extra for weddings we supply 4 ft LOVE letters . in warm white

Our 9 hole mini golf is popular at weddings to keep your guests entertained , and we also have an enclosed photobooth , supplied with numerous props , photos printed straight away .

Our music bingo is very popular , as a fundraiser or just entertainment

We are fully insured to £10m public liability , and all equipment is fully pat tested.

Each event is different , a quote is supplied after a discussion about the event. Packages can offer discount if 2 or more services are booked together.
The date is secured on payment of a booking fee which is deducted off the final balance
Final payment needs to be paid 21 days  prior to the event taking place, unless its for an account customer, or another arrangement has been made.  We do not accept payment from non account customers after the event .We accept cards, bank transfer and cash .
Yes of course. However for the booking fee and any other payments to be refunded, cancellations must be made 28 days before event.
Yes , the outdoor cinema is weather dependant . It cannot operate in wet or windy conditions, ideally a booking can be moved inside with our indoor cinema, but if it cannot go ahead indoors no charge will be made.
Our most popular films include Grease, The Greatest Showman and Back to the Future. We have a list of included films, but we can licence newer films for a one off showing where no entry is charged. We use Filmbank Media for newer films . We suggest that no film is above 12A so all audiences can view, films 12 and above would have to be in a totally secure setting due to licencing conditions.
The photo booth is self operating via a touch screen , an enclosed unit with many props . Hire is for 3 hours , longer on request . Photos can be printed straight away .  As an add on to the disco , price is £225 . For a single hire please ask for a quote .
The mini golf course is 9 holes , and hire period is 4 hours , with an attendant . It must be used on a flat surface . Suitable for all ages . Mini golf is available as an add on to other bookings or on its own.
These can be added to any package for £50 . For single hire please ask for a quote.
All booking is subject to these terms and conditions. Please inform us urgently if there are
any errors. A more concise set of terms is attached to the booking form of the service used.

1. We only guarantee a booking once we receive the returned signed agreement together with
the deposit.
2. We reserve the right to re-allocate dates should the relevant paperwork not be returned to us
within 21 days.
3. The terms of this agreement do allow for cancellation by mutual consent of both parties and
confirmed in writing.
4. Mersea Mobile Disco will allow cancellation up to 28 days before event
5. The deposit will not be refunded within 28 days of the event
6. The balance is due 21 days before the event date,
by BACS or Card . Only by prior arrangement , cash during this period..
7. You are advised to contact us urgently should the balance be delayed due to unforeseen
8. It is the booker’s responsibility to check that any venue being used has all the necessary
Entertainment and Liquor licenses
9. It is Booker’s legal responsibility to comply with and ensure that current Health and Safety
regulations are in place and any place of performance is fit for the use intended. A safe
electrical supply must be provided for disco, and the golf floodlights if its an evening booking. All extreme situations (Marquees / Outbuildings) must
be dry and undercover and made safe for electrical use and insulated from the ground.
Ensure that there is sufficient TOTAL electrical power available for all of the service
equipment and other contractors using the facilities.
Smoke machines can only be used with the prior consent of the venue management.
10.A minimum clear floor space is required for 4 Metres x 2 Metres with a head height of 2.6
metres. With a minimum of 2 x 13 amp power sockets within 6 metres of the setup area. If
another additional entertainment is booked, adequate floor space must be available for all the
performers and changing facilities provided if required.
11.At least 75 minutes is required for setting up and 60 minutes to dismantle and reloading
equipment. If a DJ and photobooth is booked , we require 2 hours prior to start. This must be
taken into account when planning any arrangements. If requested an earlier setup time can
be made by arrangement. (Before your guests arrive or before the meal), This may result in
extra cost due to extra time and travelling expenses
We require at least an hour to set the golf, and need access within 20 metres to unload the van . The minimum area required is 20mx15m
In the event of any damage to or loss of any equipment or materials provided by the DJ for
the purpose of the performance by any occurrence or by person/s on the premises, the
booker shall be liable to pay in full for the repair or replacement cost of equipment and the
hire of necessary equipment or materials during replacement time and to compensate for any
loss of work due to that damage or loss.
12.The booker is responsible at the end of the performance for the collection of any CD’s or
property left at his/her own risk with the DJ.
13.We take no responsivity for any trips, falls or accidents on dance-floors, this is the
responsibility of the venue.
The Booker realises that while we have great DJ back up in place and every reasonable
safeguard is assured we cannot be held responsible for any DJ illness, sudden malfunction or
breakdown of any electrical equipment as this is an unavoidable occurrence and Is outside of
our control. We will, however, make every reasonable effort to rectify the situation. In the
doubtful event of a non-performance or if a total failure occurs, the booker will be refunded
the total fee in full. In this situation, this will be the full extent of our liability to the booker.
Please note we have a back up system that can be up and running in 20 minutes should all
out failure occur.
14. Any delayed set up time or subsequent delayed start time due to the overrun of any prior
proceedings or situations being outside of our control will not warrant any extension of the
stated finish time or any fee reduction. However, at the sole discretion of the DJ and with the
permission of the venue management, an extension of these performing times may be made.
The DJ will charge an additional fee. This fee must be paid in cash to the DJ before any
extra time commences.
15.No other persons or performers may use any of the equipment provided other than by prior
consent of Mersea Mobile Mobile Disco. No “ can I have a go on the mic”
16.The booker is responsible for the conduct of all persons attending the event whether these
individuals are invited or not. We do not take any responsibility for controlling rowdy
behaviour or rejecting unwanted persons from the venue. Our DJ’s have the right to perform
in a safe environment. We reserve the right to terminate our services should any physical,
verbal abuse or intimidating actions be made to the DJ venue staff or any of those persons
present at the event.
17.In these circumstances, no refund will be given, and the full fee will still be payable.
18. Where children are attending an event , please ensure parents are aware of the equipment
and the children don't attempt to play with it , if unattended due to early set up
19.Mersea Mobile Disco reserves the right to provide a substitute service in the event of the
company being unable to appear for any reason
20.If a booking has been confirmed in writing between the client and Mersea Mobile disco and
upon arrival at the venue we find another DJ/service has been booked by the client or
someone acting on behalf of the customer, then the full payment shall be payable to
ourselves .
21.Mersea Mobile Disco will ensure that Public Liability insurance is provided but only for the
protection of the public again harm, pain or suffering caused by us, personnel or equipment
and not by actions of the client or guests who may cause or instigate such harm, pain or
suffering to themselves or other under the influence of alcohol or other substances . We have
£10 million public liability insurance for the disco , photobooth and LOVE letter hire.
We have £5 Million liability gor the golf and cinema hire.

22.Where the venue as a sound limiting device, the artist shall endeavour not to trigger it, but
artist or I shall not be liable if the device or any equipment can not be reset.
23. We have worked at most venues in the region , and have not suffered and bad experiences at
them , so we wish you a fantastic event and look forward to playing a part.

                        Wedding Receptions & Private Parties

In the centre of the village, MICA is the ideal location for wedding receptions. In walking distance of Church of St Peter & St Paul, we are in the perfect location for a leisurely stroll from ceremony to reception. Equally, for ceremonies further afield, in the beautiful surroundings of Mersea Island and with ample parking on site and nearby, ours is ideal for any couple’s big day.
The main hall holds up to 150 for an evening reception and with its neutral palette, can be made to look absolutely stunning to your own personal taste. The licenced bar with professional, friendly staff on hand are included in your bespoke quotation and the adjacent, fully equipped catering kitchen, makes a great facility for your caterers
There are several options for your wedding reception or party. We can offer simple venue hire for the DIY approach or, to make everything easy for you and to take away the stresses, we can put together a bespoke party package especially for you. Options include:
  • Catering: Hot or cold buffet, sit down silver service or hog roast for up to 150 people.
  • Entertainment: Recommended by us, choose from a DJ or live band with a playlist to suit you.
  • Room dressing: Choose from simple tablecloths and centrepieces up to complete draping of the hall from our recommended suppliers.
  • Photo booth- we can provide a photo booth with props for the duration of your evening event.
  • Those little extras- we can arrange a variety of added extras for your event including toastmasters and cake makers. In fact, anything you would like, we can arrange for you.

About us
The driving force behind Smokin’ Grill Guy is Trev, our pitmaster. A fan of American BBQ for nearly 20 years. Trev has progressed from his home built Beer Keg smoker, affectionately known as “Puffing Billy”, through to “Brian”, our current trailer mounted, high capacity, wood fired American style offset. This setup can easily cater for in excess of 150 people.
We’re proud to be members of NCASS and are fully insured (£10m public liability cover) for your peace of mind.
